Garden Update 6-28-11

Tuesday, June 28, 2011

So excited to see how much my garden is producing! I was hoping to have tomatoes before the 4th of July, but I don’t know if they will turn in time. There are TONS of tomatoes in the garden at least. Woooowho!

Garden
The garden from my window. It’s really grown since the last update. A LOT! I’m totally in love with the fence Hubby put up for me too. Keeps dogs and kids out. PHEW! Now to get those posts taken down a bit. I intend to have one with a bird feeder on it though.

Garden1
Beans, tomatoes, tomatoes, tomatoes, ground cherries, tomatoes, peppers, squash and did I mention tomatoes? And what’s that? What is a ground cherry? It’s so yummmm! More on them later…

Misc
Loving the fruits of my labor in the garden! The raspberries are DELICIOUS! I need to get them covered to keep the birds out.

Peppers
My mouth is watering!

Tomatoes
This is a THRILLING sight! I have 7 plus (I found a rogue tomato when taking these pictures! I didn’t plant it… this year. Heheh… I’m not sure what variety it will be. It’s a SURPRISE!) varieties of tomatoes in my garden. It’s so exciting to see all of them producing like CRAZY this year! I have been dedicated in my pruning and tending to them too.

I will have more on my garden later this week too. Including a visit from my friendly garden mantis! Love sharing my garden space with those bug eating pals.

I love your fence, and your garden looks so good. I planted a bunch of different tomatos and thought I was being smart by putting the little pots+labels on top of each stake -- then we had a big storm and they all blew away, so as usual I don't know which is which, lol.

I'd love to have a picket fence like that. Unfortunately, it wouldn't keep the deer out and our garden is set up a little differently. Oh, well, maybe one day.

I'm curious about the ground cherries. I have a bush cherry plant; actually I had 2, but I think dh pulled one out by mistake. The deer have gotten the cherries in the past. This year we may actually get to eat them.

Your tomatoes look great--they are much farther along than mine, but weather conspired against me in the Pacific Northwest this year--I am growing them under plastic at the moment!

Hi Dee! Just thought I'd drop in and check out what's growing :) Looks like everything is doing great. Congrats, once again, on great success! I miss not spending countless hours in my garden this year. Ever since I started working full time I don't have the time/energy to get out there as much as years past. But all the things I have planted are doing great, esp my yukon golds! They have taken over the 2 x 4 space I gave them. Can't wait to taste those beauties! Take care and Happy Gardening :)

Looks great! My tomatoes blew down (cage and all) in the last storm we had :( I don't think they are going to make it and my peppers haven't done much this year...I had tons last year. However, this is the year for melons I think. Lots of watermelon and cantaloupe growing, and cucumbers coming out of my ears! Happy Gardening :)

lovely plants. Great fence. I'm stopping by for the yellow green new squash, as I seem to only have zucchini this year.

Your garden looks amazing. I want to add that to my wish list for next year.

Hi, I found your post on Pam's site and I'm glad I came over to visit. I LOVE the fence, I'm going to have to show this to my guy and see if I can get rid of the ugly orange wind-breaker plastic he currently has around one of my flower beds to keep the farm dog out. Thanks for the idea.

Also I have a question for you, I'm curious why you plant your garden in enclosed spaces. I like the way it looks but is there a reason for it? I'm always looking for new ideas!

Have a great weekend. I just might see you again next week! :-)

Great garden! My garden needs a lot of attention right now. So many weeds! We have broccoli, strawberrys, and tomatoes. Thanks for stopping by Creative and Curious Kids! Always nice to have visitors! :)
