New Year's in a Nutshell

Friday, December 31, 2010

Here I am again... A Friday rolls around and I can't resist a meme. It's all about New Year's though and I wanted to write something about that. So, it's all good, right?

This is a milestone for me though... This is my first post from my new IPad! This is one amazing gadget! Love it! And yes, an IPad is exactly what I suspected my Hubbie was going to give me too. Woowho!

Now on to the questions!
Rules for Five Question Friday: Copy and paste the questions to your blog post, answer them, then link your answers to My Little Life!

1. How long does your Christmas tree stay up?
Normally we have our tree up after Thanksgiving and into the New Year. Something wacky happened this year and we got our tree up just a week before Christmas and done a few days after. Oh and there were no decorations put on the tree either! Grrr.. Really not sure what happened. Too many things slipped this holiday.

2. Do you have plans for New Year's Eve?
Why yes we do! This is our year in the rotation to have my Hubbie's best friend family over. Granted his friends wife and I struggle to get along sometimes and have had a rough road in the past, New Year's is always fun! And we just enjoy the fellowship. I really should be preparing for this event instead of sitting here answering these questions. Hehehe...

3. Do you have any New Year's resolutions?
Hmmm... Maybe I should work on my procrastination? *snickering* I have a post all written out for my resolutions. Need to transfer it to computer and post it. You will just have to come back and see it, now won't you?

4. How did you spend New Year's Eve when you were younger?
In a most pathetic manner! I hated change so I would stay up with my parents, watch the ball drop and slink to my room to cry the New Year's in because everything changed again. It was really sad and something I regret! There is so much potential in a New Year. Granted now I struggle with the sadness that my kids are growing older each year, but it does not depress me like it used to. I have learned now to treasure moments more but look forward to the fun ahead too.

5. What was the best way you've ever spent New Year's Eve?
I am not sure... Having Hubbie's friend's family over is a pretty cool way to celebrate. We play games all night and snack away! I think the last few years with this arrangement have been the best.

1. How long does your Christmas tree stay up?
It usually goes up somewhere between Black Friday and December 10th and comes down sometime during the week after New Year's.

2. Do you have plans for New Year's Eve?
Yes, I am going out to dinner with my family.

3. Do you have any New Year's resolutions?
The ones my doctor would like me to have - exercise more, eat healthier. Easy to say, hard to put into practice.

4. How did you spend New Year's when you were younger?
I've been spending New Year's Eve the same way for about 30 years. I always go out to dinner with my family.

5. What was the best way you've ever spent New Year's Eve?
One that I remember is when we got an ice storm and every inch of the trees were covered in white with their limbs heavy and hanging across the roadways. It was a very beautiful sight. The type of snow you usually only see in holiday movies.
