Five Q Friday!

Friday, March 12, 2010

Oh yay! I am going to try this Blog Carnival on and maybe regret it later depending on the question. :P

1. How much time do you spend on the computer a day?
Oh yah... You don't wanna know! But before I reveal, does my phone count as "being on the computer"? Seeing as the majority of my time on my phone is spent tweeting or cruising the internet. :)

Okay, I'll leave the phone out of it for this answer... I think I spend about 4 to 5 hours per day on my laptop. (If my phone is in the equation, we would be looking more at 12 hours per day. I'm on my phone almost every baby feeding which is every 2 hours. Hehe...)

2. Will you pay for your children's college or raise them to pay for their own way?
Hubbie and I are torn on this. I paid for my college and go scholarships like crazy. I believe that having kiddos pay their own will make them OWN it more and work harder at it too. Soooo... we vote for a 1/2 and 1/2. Make them pay/look for their scholarships and depending on grades we will help.

3. Have you ever been in a car accident?
Yuppers... Just one and it's when my oldest was only 6 weeks old! I was leaving a breastfeeding class at the hospital and thinking, "I am never coming back to this place again." When BAM! We were hit. I totally freaked! The other driver had not been paying attention at all.

Somehow an EMS firefighter showed up on the scene immediately. They took me BACK to the hospital I didn't wanna be at anymore and left me strapped to a gurney forever. They wanted Xrays but there was no one to watch Punk so I refused to let them take me away without someone to watch the baby! I mean... are you kidding me?! Leave my 6 week old in a room with only a curtain for a wall alone?! Not going to happen in my book.

To add to the fun, Punk woke up and wanted to be fed while I was on the gurney too but of course, what could I do? A nurse assisted me in feeding my poor little one while laying on my back unable to see ANYTHING! That was incredibly humiliating too.

My Hubbie and Mom did make it to the hospital and I was able to get Xrays and stuff while they watched Punk. Was so nice to get off that gurney!

So yah... thankfully there have been no other accidents. :)

4. What is your favorite book?
Hmmm... anything by Jane Austen... And well... yah, anything I can read that I like. :)

5. Do you make your bed everyday?
I try to! I love having a made bed. It makes me feel like I've already accomplished something for the day.

Maybe that's the way I need to look at bed making!! So glad you joined in!! What a scary accident...I can just picture you feeding that babe, flat on your back, with the nurse helping!

Don't be humiliated...I'd help like that in a second for someone, and never think twice about it! Imagine all the boobs we nurses see!

I totally agree with you on #2. I think it makes them more responsible when they have to pay for it themselves.

Oh my gosh! That would have been awful being strapped down with a six week old baby needing fed. :(

Yikes! What a scary thing. All my car accidents were pre-kiddos, but the idea of having one with my kids in the car scares the pee outta me!
I didn't even try to factor in my online on my phone time. The computer part was bad enough! Welcome to 5QF!

Hey! I love Jane Austen too, but I've recently run into a problem. I read "Pride and Prejudice" during my first trimester when I was oh so sick. I loved it, but I have yucky associations with Austen books now. I have been trying to read Emma for a couple months, but I keep thinking of getting sick. Ha!
