Peanut Butter Banana Panini

Tuesday, February 08, 2011

The kids and I made these tasty sandwiches because we were TIRED of the same ‘ol same ‘ol lunch. Plus, I’ve been getting the kids in the kitchen more for school. Granted, they are not the healthiest sandwich in the world, but pair them up with grapes, yogurt and a glass of milk. Yummmmm! No dessert required with these!

You will need some sort of indoor grill, Panini sandwich squishing machine or other way of grilling these. They might be just as good in a regular sandwich maker but I think having them flattened thin makes them so good! We used a George Foreman grill.

PBBananaPanini1
Ingredients:
Peanut Butter
Banana’s
Chocolate Chips
Bread (we used Honey Wheat)
Butter Spray (might not have needed this)

PBBananaPanini2
We spread about 1 Tbsp of peanut butter on each slice of bread.

PBBananaPanini3
Slice your banana’s thin and even LESS chocolate chips per sandwich goes over well.
Got a bit carried away with that one… hehe…

PBBananaPanini4
Not a “traditional” Panini maker, but this worked really well!
We were happy with it! Be careful though, these sandwiches cook fast.
I almost burnt one!

YUMMM!

I so need another one of these with a cold glass of milk! Will definitely add this to our lunch rotation and the kids can make them next time. I will pre slice the banana’s for them. So easy!

I also have other ideas for what we can make! Gooey cheese sandwiches are top on my list!

Take care!

Yum! Hey, if you add semi-sweet chocolate chips, which is basically dark chocolate it would be healthy, right? ;)

Yum, this looks like the ultimate PB sandwich. It must be so good when the peanut butter is all warm and gooey. I have a sweet treat linky party going on at my blog called "Sweets for a Saturday" and I'd like to invite you to stop by this weekend and link your panini up. http://sweet-as-sugar-cookies.blogspot.com/2011/02/sweets-for-saturday-4.html
