Stuck in a Meme

StuckPost My writing is stuck. I can’t seem to break away from Meme’s (Blog Carnivals) to just write on my blog anymore. I’m not even sure how it all got started, but it’s now a full blow epidemic! I think of a great thing to write down and my next thought is… what can I link that up to? I guess I do this because I feel that my writing isn’t good enough just on it’s own. Or I am worried that no one will read what I post without “publishing” it on another blog. I’ve also come to rely on these as a spring board of ideas on what to write about. I need to break away though.

Granted linking up to other blogs is a great thing. It ensures that someone reads your blog that day (usually) and that’s always a plus. The problem is that now I can’t seem to just write to write. I want to get back to writing. This blog is a place for me first and right now I’m not even comfortable with that. I need to accept my writing and use my blog as the journal of life I intended it to be.

So I am taking over my blog again! Are you ready? I know I’m not trying to be! I want to stop all the meme posting and just write for awhile. I can’t guarantee that I can do it but I am going to try. At least for a week! Hehe..  I can handle a week. I wonder if I should set up a tag for NOT a Blog Carnival? Hehe…

I can see where you'd get stuck in the meme cycle. I've considered doing some memes to up my traffic, but I don't want to feel obligated, you know? I always try to make a quality comments and not just "I saw you on Man Does My Butt Look Big Monday" and sometimes...that's hard to do. Because the quality content isn't always there.

I was having bloggy writers block. Then I would get all caught up in trying to do stuff like the 'big' bloggers do it. I participated in a Blog Write Party with @alfecia and @sunflowermommie and it really got things moving again for me. I also checked out the 100 words challenge, one minute writer, and mindbump for inspiration. Not really memes but it gets things going.

@Jamie
AHAHAHAHA!! Love the title for that Meme. Maybe there should be one, but what would that require? A picture!? HEHEHE Not for me!!

Take care!

I used to feel the same way. I used magazines for a while for ideas on posts to write - but the more that I did without the meme's - the more ideas would come to me. I loved the meme's though because they were like guaranteed comments - but the more that I posted just on my own the more people really had something to say.
